Not my area of expertise but I wonder if you might also look at guides for
female white/pink collar workers. My Mom went to secretarial school in the
1960s and showed me the guide books that were used to train women for a
professional atmosphere. This included things like a section, complete with
chart, on how to colour coordinate one's wardrobe in an aesthetically pleasant
manner, etc.  Guides on parenting, homemaking, hosting social gatherings etc
might also be revealing. Just a thought.
