I would like to second Lesley Hall's suggestion.  I was in high school
1948-1951 and I read the magazine, "Seventeen," avidly for advice on etiquette,
boys, dating, clothes, etc.  I still remember a column from some guy arguing
that pretty girls were better company because they were more comfortable
inter-acting with their peers.  Ouch!
