EDUCATIONAL HISTORY ARTICLES in CURRENT PERIODICALS (#20) This is the twentieth similar posting in a continuing (approximately monthly) series. A few caveats and ground rules: These articles are in periodicals OUTSIDE the usual History of Education journals (HEQ, Paed. Hist., etc). They are on the current periodicals shelves at UCLA or the Huntington Library at the time of posting, but in other libraries they may already be bound in volumes. (Some were actually found at online Table of Contents sites maintained by journal publishers--if those sites give no page numbers, none are given here.) Your definitions of history and education may exclude some of these and include others. It's not always easy to tell from titles what an article is about, but most of these are pretty clearly on topic. Only journals from late 2000-2002 were scanned for inclusion. Contributions, from the most recent two calendar years only, are always welcome--please send them to me OFF-LIST --and they'll be added to the next batch for posting. [A personal note from the editor: I started compiling these lists when H-Education launched in the fall of 1999; at that time, I had no idea that there would be enough material to continue strong through twenty installments. This means we've had more than 500 individual citations of articles published since 1998, in hundreds of journals (this month's list is a fairly representative sample of the variety of journals involved). Remember this the next time you hear anything about the history of education being a dusty little subfield, well-removed from the current streams of historical scholarship....and keep the contributions coming. Onward to installment #21. --PLR] Copeland, R.
