[Editor's note--sorry about the mess in the last version of this--cutting and pasting is hazardous business.] EDUCATIONAL HISTORY ARTICLES in CURRENT PERIODICALS (#12) This is the twelfth posting in a continuing series. A few caveats and ground rules: These articles are in periodicals OUTSIDE the usual History of Education journals (HEQ, Paed. Hist., etc). They are on the current periodicals shelves at UCLA or the Huntington Library at the time of posting, but in other libraries they may already be bound in volumes. Your definitions of history and education may exclude some of these and include others. It's not always easy to tell from titles what an article is about, but most of these are pretty clearly on topic. Only journals from 1999-2001 were scanned for inclusion. Contributions, from the most recent two calendar years only, are always welcome--please send them to me OFF-LIST --and they'll be added to the next batch for posting. Since I can't read all the current tables of contents on every visit, batches may seem to have themes related to the section I've mined most recently, or the particular interests of other contributors. Part I of this batch is US histories of education; part II is non-US histories of education. Part I: US Histories of Education Alvarez, Patricia, "The Battle for Wai'apuka School: One Round of an Epic Contest," _Hawaiian Journal of History_ 33 (1999): 1-20. Back, Adina.
