I am looking for a third panelist for the upcoming SHEAR (Society of Historians of the Early American Republic) conference in July. So far there are two of us on the panel. My paper discusses the influence of convent narratives on the rise of the Know-Nothing Party in Massachusetts. The other panelist examines the influence of Elijah Lovejoy's anti-Catholic positions (as opposed to merely his abolitionism) on the burning of his press. We would like to form the panel around aspects of anti-Catholicism and interreligious relations in the early republic/antebellum eras. If would like to join the panel, please send (200 word) abstract and your cv to me at clyhy3@mail.missouri.edu<mailto:clyhy3@mail.missouri.edu>. Please send your information to me on or before Friday, November 22, as the deadline for conference proposals is December 1. Thanks, and I'll look forward to hearing from you! Cassandra Cassandra L.
