MONTREAL FREE NET The Quebec government has contributed $616,000 toward setting up a Free Net in Montreal which will provide services in both French and English, as an integral part of the government's plan to bring the province up to speed on the info-highway and to promote the use of French on the Internet. (Montreal Gazette 6/20/95 A6) PARLIAMENT ON THE INTERNET Canada's Parliament has signed onto the Internet. Computer users can now tour Parliament online, learn about parliamentary procedure, and read transcripts from committee meetings. They will not, however, be able to send e-mail to Members of Parliament or Senators; some MPs have tried it and have been deluged with messages and their staff have been unable to keep up with the mail. < http://www.parl.gc.ca> or <gopher://gopher.parl.gc.ca>.
