Hello H-Canada subscribers, I'm co-editing a book on historical GIS in Canada with University of Toronto Map and GIS librarian Marcel Fortin. The book will feature a wide range of contributions from historians, geographers, and university librarians working with GIS technology to map aspects of Canada's social, cultural, economic, and environmental history. In addition to these larger and more established projects, we'd like to feature a series of shorter (3-5 pp) contributions from researchers or GIS specialists who have employed Google Earth or other open source spatial software to collate, display, and interpret their findings. If you are pursuing a topic on any aspect of Canadian history and have used Google Earth or other open source platforms to add a spatial dimension to your research, we'd like to hear from you. Please get in touch with Jennifer Bonnell jenniferlbonnell@gmail.com or Marcel Fortin marcel.fortin@utoronto.ca and tell us about your work.
