H-ASIA December 4, 2013 British perception of Indian unrest in 1904 ~response ********* From: Veena Oldenburg <veenao@gmail.com> Yes, it had definitely started in the Punjab. (See Richard Fox, Lions of the Punjab: Culture in the Making, 1985) The unrest erupted again in 1907 and it was called, informally by the British, as The Third Sikh War. It was so severe that they called of the Infanticide Act in 1908. The unrest had much to do with land revenue policies, and army recruitment.
