H-ASIA January 24, 2009 Professor Robin James Moore (29 April 1934 - 4 January 2009) ************************************************************************* From: Frank Conlon I have had word from Dr. Lance Brennan of Flinders University of South Australia that Professor Robin James Moore, Emeritus Professor and Senior Scholar at the Flinders University of South Austalia died on January 4, 2009 after a prolonged illness. The funeral was conducted on Friday, January 9. He is survived by his wife Dr. Rosemary Moore of the Department of English, University of Adelaide. It is my hope that a full obituary of Robin Moore will be posted later on H-ASIA. Robin was a warm and genial colleague and a distinguished scholar who made significant contributions to the history of the end of the British Indian Empire, particularly in his study of the high politics of the three decades prior to independence and partition.
