The fellowship will be for one year with the possibility of a one year renewal. It is designed to allow young scholars to pursue a research program on a topic in early Chinese civilization and to participate in on-going projects and activities at the University. Applicants must have received their Ph.D. degree no later than 2001. Applications should include a letter of application, abstract and one chapter of the dissertation (or other suitable writing sample), a five-page plan of research for the one-year period, a current curriculum vitae and two letters of recommendation; candidates whose native language is not English should also provide evidence of proficiency in English. The fellowship will be for $36,000 per year, plus health insurance. Applications are due 15 February 2006.
