<gebrekid@pilot.msu.edu> I'm interested in getting some information about the late David Talbot. A caribbean by birth, Talbot had migrated to Ethiopia in the mid '40s where he served as the editor of the Ethiopian Herald and as an advisor on African affairs in the ministery of foreign affairs. He also founded the American Institute, an adult language school. He died in Ethiopia in 1988. I'm familiar with Talbot's three volume writing on Ethiopia. But I haven't seen anything written on him. I would appreciate if you offer me references to individuals who know Talbot closely, or if you share with me whatever you know about this person. I understand he had an Egyptian wife who may now be residing in the U.S. Could someone verify this?
