Columbus is a suburban spreadsheet, and there are many malls. The largest shopping center is City Center, a few block south of the Regency on High Street (nice walk, weather permitting). *The Columbus Museum (480 E. Broad Street--Broad Street is a block before you hit City Center, turn left on Broad) is currently hosting "From Temples and Tombs: Recent Archeological Discoveries from Israel, Family Documents (photos by Doug DuBois and Sheron Rupp) *Weixner Center (located on OSU campus, adjoining the main School of Music Bldg, ca. 1920 N. High; the multi-millioneer chain-store owner Weixner endowment) offers regular shows, exhibits, and performances by internationally acclaimed artists: SAVION GLOVER--Nov 13-15 8pm $20/$26/$32(Bring in 'Da Noise fame) 614-292-3535 DA DA KAMERA Here Lies Henry Nov 13-15 8pm $14 (Performance group from Canada GENDERED CONFRONTATIONS/Video Artand Alternative Media -- Nov 11-16 There are some art galleries in the area known as the Short North ("Village"), a few blocks south of the Hyatt Regency on High Street. PLACES TO EAT: THE BLUE NILE (Ethiopian Restaurant)1151 N. High Street (except Sunday) SKANKLAND (Jamaican) 2361 N. High Street There are many other restaurants in the vicinity of the conference hotel. Columbus is a place of "festivals" (you can define ice cream social as festival). Visit the OSU campuses, take local bus no.2 and go North about 2 miles and you will be on the main Columbus campus. There suburban townships--Worthington, Arlington, Delaware, Westerville, etc.
