<wbbaptiste@anthro.umass.edu> CALL FOR PAPERS AND SUBMISSIONS! The African Diaspora Archaeology Newsletter invites submissions for its Fall edition. After refiguring the editorial staff, and launching its new website hosted by University of Massachusetts, the ADAN hopes to provide a peer-reviewed venue for non-traditional academic papers; site reports, conference papers, book reviews, and other types of abridged work not typically found in published journals. We also welcome short essays on an artifact, feature and/or aspect of a site, similar to the three-minute conference papers seen more recently at archaeology conferences. Our desire is to continue to provide an online, free forum for the pragmatic exchange of discourse pertaining to the African Diaspora. Please submit your work to our new web address: scholarworks.umass.edu/adan/ The submission process is now online. Please follow the instructions below to submit a manuscript to the African Diaspora Archaeology Newsletter. Shortly afterward, you will receive an email confirming your submission. The submission process consists of the following steps: -Read and accept the Article Submission Agreement -Provide information about yourself -Provide information about any authors -Upload your article and related items -Before you begin, please be sure you have the following items: Article Title An abstract (separate from the article body) Keywords for your article (optional) Article in one of the following formats: Microsoft Word, or RTF. Note: Articles must be submitted without a title page, abstract, or page numbers. These will be provided by the system. No part of the submission is final until all steps have been completed and you click the final Submit button. The review process begins as soon as African Diaspora Archaeology Newsletter receives a readable article, along with the abstract and article title. You may revise any of these elements later by clicking the submitted article's title on your My Account page. Thank you and we look forward to your submission! The ADAN team.
