----------- From: Marika Sherwood <msherwood@phonecoop.coop> Subject: NGO seeks reparations from Britain, America for slavery: Reply Date: Thu, 23 Jul 2009 07:02:15 +0100 What Rick Bradshaw says, "My student seemed to have forgotten the part her own ancestors played in the slave trade.... Her ancestors profited from the slave trade. Many of these slaves were sold in Nigeria, and some were used on plantations..." explains the reluctance of Africans to discuss the trade in which they participated and from which some of them profited hugely. ------------- Which is, as a matter of fact, a huge contrast with their white American counterparts, who never exhibit any reluctance "to discuss the trade in which they participated and from which some of them profited hugely."
