John Thornton makes some very useful points about the question of reparations for slave trade. To further illustrate the intricacy of that issue, one may point to cases like the 19th century trade from Darfur, Khordofan, Bahr el-Ghazal to Egypt when victims, perpetrators as well as end-market were all contained within Africa.
