Dear Mr. Akurang-Parry: Is the Northern Ghana-based NGO, the Ghana Reparation and Reparation Foundation (GRARF), seeking reparations from all countries whose predecessor governments and businesses became rich and powerful because of their participation in the Atlantic Slave Trade in what in now Ghana? If so, is GRARF’s petition also asking that the Government of Ghana, in addition to Britain and America, pay reparations to people in the three northern regions of the country for the Ashanti Empire’s role in that trade in the 18th and 19th Centuries?
