<dagomba2001@yahoo.com> This is Ghana's president Kufuor's second time on speaking about slavery in recent times. The earlier was in the UK where he spoke at the Wilberforce Institute. He did get a bad press for demonstrating an ill-informed understanding of the history of slavery. Now he is at it again, spewing nonsense not only as president of Ghana, but chair of AU. What moral authority has he to make such a claim? Why not leave it to those who share the heritage of slavery to speak? He may have his private thoughts. Fine. But to speak as president of Ghana and chair of AU calls for a different level of responsibility. An Ashanti slave-raiders son telling the children of slaves to shut up and put up! How silly! He should go and ask the Jews, and First Nations! This is the same guy, in a state of the nation address called First Nations "Red Indians". This is same guy who wore a suit and hot March tropical Ghana on the 50th Anniversay of Ghana's Independence and then a week later wears an African cloth in chilly cold London while visiting the Buckingham palace.
