Southwestern University Dear colleagues, I am writing a Fulbright application for our institution to invite an East or Central African writer-in-residence to our campus for the 2006-07 academic year. Do any of the subscribers to this list have recommendations of writers that they know, have worked with, have invited to their campuses? I can generate endless lists of novelists, poets, and playwrights from this region who sound fascinating, but I'd be grateful for some recommendations of writers who: * do not live in the U.S. (Fulbright requirements) * might be interested in spending a year in the Austin, Texas, area (the fellowship would provide stipend for family travel, housing, and some other amenities) * preferably have some experience with teaching Please reply to me off-list at greenmue@southwestern.edu.
