<wwb3@uchicago.edu> If the issue is now Africa in world history, attention should be paid to the in-process Oxford University Press world history series, which has commissioned a number of textbooky works by Africanists of various sorts (including me on "the Trans-Saharan World"). Of course these books are not yet available (actually, some may be close to ready). raa
