X-Posted from "Hausa language, literature and culture" <H-HAUSA@H-NET.MSU.EDU> From: John Philips <philips@mail.h-net.msu.edu> Date: Thu, 5 Feb 2004 22:38:27 +0100 From: "Don Osborn" <dzo@bisharat.net> Subject: Hausa alphabet? Is anyone familiar with a Hausa alphabet that is neither Ajami nor Boko? A while back someone here in Niamey claimed to have learned an alphabet from his grandfather who had learned from his elders - so supposedly it is old. I recently got a copy of it from a contact at CELHTO and can provide more details if anyone is interested. I don't think anyone here really knows what to make of it, but it was apparently met with some skepticism as to its origins. Don Osborn
