cross-posted from H-Women Date: Mon, 27 Mar 2000 From: Stacy A. Cordery <STACY@monm.edu> Loni Bramson (Loni.BramsonLerche@ping.be) Natalie Evers of Leiden University is writing a Ph. D. on women in 17th - 19th century West Africa, more in particular in Ghana, more in particular in Elmina, and more in particular again on mixed Dutch-`Ghanian' marriages. She wrote what I consider an outstanding article about it, I believe, in the autumn number of the Dutch review, `Tijdschrift voor Geschiedenis' (1998 issue), which would - I think - MUCH merit a translation into English. If you're interested you may contact her directly under: <Evers@RULLET.LeidenUniv.NL> She'll certainly enjoy any international contact, since she's frankly growing totally despondent having to work in an environment where nobody cares very much for West Africa, let alone for women there.
