I need some help in tracking down the origination of the terms "early adopters," "late adopters," "resisters," etc. >From what I have found, the original research was done in the area of agriculture back in the early 1900's. The earliest reference I have found dealing with this is Schumpter, J.A. (1934) The Theory of Economic Development, Cambridge, MA: Harvard University Press. It sure would help me tie up one of the last strings in my thesis. I am meeting with my committee on this Tuesday. Would appreciate you passing this request on to others who might know, and getting back to me at nansen@sendit.nodak.edu rather than posting to the listserve - that way I will get it immediately.
