At the moment that may be the most common scenario - both parents working outside the home - however I see that trend reversing as more and more people work from home and either telecommute to work or work in a home based business. I'm not sure of the situation in the USA but here in British Columbia, Canada the fastest growing sector of the economy is in the home based business sector. If that trend continues and parents have the option of educating their kids at home rather then sending them to a local school, I wonder which they will choose, given all the publicity surrounding incidents such as Littleton, Colorado? Secondly, there have been dire predictions about impending teacher shortages (hard to imagine) as the "boomer" generation of teachers retire. I suspect this - the inability to put "warm bodies" in classrooms - more then any other factor may spur the increased use of educational technology in its many forms: computer managed learning, distance education, etc. My $0.02 worth. > >I agree. > >I am going to express a viewpoint, pretty obvious I think, that has been >missed by the "visionaries" of changing schools that I have listened to or >read articles they published.
