Given that most of the applications that you've described are "digital", would you please elaborate on what your consultants are suggesting that remains analog? For any video streaming or broadcast applications---digital video is the national standard, with so called analog or TV1 circuits being phased out. Cable systems and other video distribution outlets are moving toward transmission of MPEG II or MEPG I quality video...requiring high levels of available bandwidth...but nothing that should exceed the capacity of a private fiber network. The issue may be what transmission standard will be used to transmit and distribute the "data". There's a debate now between ATM and Gigabit ethernet for high speed data distribution. Analog may be CHEAPER today, but it will limit your capabilities severely in the future.
