>X-From: Joan Keenan <jkeenan@islands.vi> >I like the idea of storing the inkjet cartridges in plastic ziplocks, but >can anyone tell me how to convince the Epson 850 and 740 to let me take out >a cartridge that is not empty! :) It was no problem on the older Epson's, >but we haven't figured it out yet on these and summer is here! With many of the newest printers there is no solution to this. The ink cartridges are not meant to be removed before they are empty. The instructions included with the printer are very clear about this. If you do manage to remove the cartridges, they will not work properly when you put them back in, and will have to be thrown away anyway. If the printers are going to remain set up and connected, you might try going in once a month and printing something (with color). If you have to put the printers away, try putting the entire printer in a plastic bag, with as much air removed as possible. -- Bob Tighe tighe@aps.edu EDTECH has changed addresses.
