Oh, how fun!!! Marybeth Green -----Original Message----- From: EDTECH Editor-Beil <edadmin9@MAIL.H-NET.MSU.EDU> To: EDTECH <EDTECH@H-NET.MSU.EDU> Sent: Wed, Jul 14, 2010 10:04 am Subject: Re: Who do you follow on Twitter From: Fred Mindlin <fmindlin@santacruz.k12.ca.us> Besides just creating saved search lists on one's own Twitter homepage to ollow a hash tag topic, there's a cool little web service that mocks up a newspaper" page based on a search--here's an example for #edtech: http://paper.li/tag/edtech Creates a nice-looking page you can bookmark with a stream of the tweets on the hosen topic, and a couple of "articles" highlighted from the stream, updated aily. Cheers, Fred - red Mindlin ssociate Director for Technology Integration entral California Writing Project ttp://ccwp.ucsc.edu/ ttp://www.thedigitalstoryteller.com/ Intelligence is knowing what to do when you don't know what to do." -- John olt > X-From: M G Durrant <mgd@ucet.org> Until recently I have followed only a couple of dozen people, and have been followed by perhaps a dozen people, most of whom are technology peers in Utah. Since the conclusion of ISTE10, I have acquired four or five new followers per day. In most instances it is flattering, and in a few cases, irritating. My numbers are still small enough that I review each new follower and block those who seem to have no affinity for my interests. Searching on Twitter for specific hashtags would be a productive though time-consuming way of finding appropriate twitterers to follow. I never follow anyone without taking a look at their most recent posts. I'm not interested in following anyone who writes primarily about their personal life; I am looking for people who share the best ideas in educational technology that come their direction. I'm sure I am NOT a typical twitter user. > X-From: Marybeth Green <marybe6262@aol.com> > One of my classes this summer will be creating a Personal Learning Network > with social media tools.
