Becky, Why should it be up to you and your tech to come up with a solution. The problem is with the staff and they are guided by your principal. Ask that he or she lead a discussion at the start of the year asking what the teachers can do to keep care of the equipment. I assume you check the equipment outfit a period of time so then can expect it back in clean condition. Don't get into policy making. That's not a place you want to go.
