Roger, I completely agree with everything Jeffrey just wrote, but I have one very important addition - www.edu20.org. Like Mahara, edu20 is free (for basic use, which includes portfolio features), web-based and extremely easy to use. It does not have the resume builder or a skills/goal tracker (though these things will be added in the future, I hear). BUT, it does have something Mahara does not have - complete and total Learning Management Functionality 10 times more feature-rich and easier to use than Moodle. That means that edu20 allows teachers to deliver their complete curriculum online. It also means that students are one-click away from adding an assignment artifact to their portfolio. There is little creative freedom, but as Jeffrey said, unless one of your core standards is web design, then you should probably be looking for a produce that has the shortest learning curve possible. -- Matt Henchen Social Studies Teacher Technology Integrationist Harwood Union Middle/High School --- Edtech Archives, posting guidelines and other information are at: http://www.h-net.msu.edu/~edweb Please include your name, email address, and school or professional affiliation in each posting.
