Jenka, iTunes will import audio into MP3 format if you configure it to do so. You'll get better quality going directly into MP3 instead of transcoding from M4A files you already created. Go to iTunes > Preferences. On the General pane, click the Import Settings button. The Import Using menu item lets you choose between several encoders. AAC is the default, but here you can choose MP3 Encoder, among others. Once you save these settings, future CD imports will use them.
