Dave, Working with a robotics group, a was made aware of a great site: eGFI "eGFI is proudly brought to you by the American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE). We are committed to promoting and enhancing efforts to improve K-12 STEM and engineering education." http://egfi-k12.org/about/ Good luck on your new endeavor! I am from an educational background, and some of this material at first seemed a little daunting. Getting involved with robotics with a group of middle schoolers was an excellent start for me.
