Hi Robert, Although we no longer have the lab environment in our elementary school, one feature that I appreciated was being able to see all the student monitors. My work station was in the back, so I could easily see them; it avoided monitoring via software. The students did have to get used to me being in the back for some instruction whereas their homeroom teachers were in the front of the room. Your smartboard may resolve some of those issues. However, with a different room dimension, I would have liked to have a few computers clustered together with enough space to walk around and be able to get to each child for individual help. One of the new rooms will be a computer lab. This room is to contain at least 24 student machines, 1 presentation workstation, smartboard, and ceiling mounted projector. There has been some discussion with regards to the design of the room. > > We would appreciate hearing comments on computer lab designs that work in and elementary school setting. > > Thanks for you assistance. > > Robert > > > -- > Robert McGuire Assistant Technology Director > Monett R-1 School District > 417-235-0646 or 417-235-3411 > rmcguire@monett.k12.mo.us > Teaching Tomorrows Skills Today! --- Edtech Archives, posting guidelines and other information are at: http://www.h-net.msu.edu/~edweb Please include your name, email address, and school or professional affiliation in each posting.
